Our Neighborhood is an original film inspired by the architectural achievements of Poland's communist era. The black-and-white footage, documenting the current state of a housing estate in Szczecin, is juxtaposed with the soundtrack of a 1974 propaganda film. While the narrative seems to perfectly complement the visuals, focusing on the residents and their comfort, the viewer sees only objects and elements of the environment, creating a fictitious image of a deserted neighborhood. This unique journey through time is designed to entertain, unsettle, and provoke reflection on both the past and present. Once criticized, these housing estates are now thriving and growing in popularity.
