Etat (Etatatat …) explores the liminal space between necessity and choice. The rifle-like object, crafted from birch plywood, stands as a poignant symbol of the daily struggle for stability and one's own identity within the rigid constructs of employment. The rhythmic repetition of the word 'etat' (Polish for "employment") in the title echoes the cadence of gunfire, metaphorically alluding to the monotony, routine and mechanized existence in a system in which adults - like soldiers - play the roles assigned to them in a social game governed by hierarchies and top-down rules.
