ABOUT

Izabela Wowczko is a Polish-Irish visual and conceptual artist based in Szczecin, Poland. Working across photography, moving image, and sculptural objects, her multidisciplinary practice is shaped by a background in economics and social science research.

Through a diverse range of mediums, Izabela translates contemporary issues into a compelling visual language, examining their impact on individuals and society. By amplifying perspectives that exist outside dominant paradigms, her art seeks to give visibility to the unseen and unheard. At the core of her work is the belief that personal commentaries can hold universal significance.

Using provocative visual metaphors Izabela creates spaces for reflection and meaningful dialogue. She invites viewers to extend their empathy beyond the familiar, fostering a deeper engagement with often-overlooked angles. By challanging mainstream narratives, she offers alternative ways of looking at key themes explored in her artistic practice - feminism, capitalism, and ecology.
